We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will lead a team of electrical engineers, overseeing projects and working on a higher technical level.
Description:
The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the design, interpretation, application, and documentation of drawings, schematics, and diagrams. The Senior Electrical Engineer will work throughout the design and construction process adapting and developing electrical plans according to budget constraints, design factors and client needs, and ensure that designs and their applications are completed to codes and standards set forth by the appropriate authoritative entities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and interpret new and existing one-lines, three-lines, panel elevations, AC\DC\Communication schematics, relay panel wiring diagrams and equipment wiring diagrams.
- Prepare, recommend, and select preliminary designs.
- Create project scope descriptions and proposals with sufficient details to clearly define work and cost required.
- Create/modify technical specifications for major equipment.
- Prepare/create construction documents for installation of new or modification of existing installations including bill of materials, general arrangements, plans, sections, and electrical details.
- Review and approve test reports, relay settings, coordination studies, load flow studies, testing & commissioning reports done by others.
- Utilize system studies to evaluate or design protective relay and control systems for appropriate protection.
- Review design drawings and specifications to ensure projects meet acceptable standards.
- Perform calculations such as voltage drop, CT burden & saturation, lighting, and short circuit.
- Apply field mark-ups of project as-built drawings.
- Provide support for design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of projects.
- Demonstrate integrity and ethics in all client relationships and communications.
- Recognize and recommend methods to improve the customer’s experience.
- Manage day-to-day activities of schedule and design of projects assigned to them.
- Communicate and coordinate project activities with team, client, and others as needed.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to in-experienced team members.
- Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of one’s work.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) license in Wyoming or state with Wyoming reciprocity.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- Strong knowledge of AC/DC fundamentals.
- Strong understanding of three-phase power systems.
- Knowledge of basic protection principles and practices for transmission lines, distribution feeders, and major substation equipment.
- Knowledge of protection and control systems with the ability to understand one-lines and control schematics.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards such as NEC, NESC, IEEE, NEMA, and ANSI.
- Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
- Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
- Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)
